Battery Optimization

To avoid having a malfunctioning Zenit App during race day it is of utmost importance to configure your device to “NOT” stop Zenit!

If you own an iOS (iPhone) device you are in luck. Zenit works out of the box without any further configuration just fine.

Stock Android Battery Optimization Setting

For Android 9.0 and later (General)

These are typically most Android phones and tablets made within the last 2-3 years.
Follow these steps to remove any potential premature killing of the Zenit App:

  • Settings > Apps > Zenit > Battery > Optimize Battery Usage > tap on Apps not optimized to instead select All. Then, find Zenit, and tap on the slider so that it disables battery optimization for the Zenit app.
  • There may be another special option in Settings > Apps > Zenit > Advanced > Battery > Background restrictions or Background limitations that you also want to disable to prevent malfunctioning of the Zenit app.

For Android 6.0 – 8.1 (General)

These are typically most Android phones and tablets (including Palm devices) made within the last 4 years.

Follow these steps:

  • Settings > Battery > select Optimized Apps > tap on All Apps from the drop-down list > select Zenit > choose Don’t Optimize.
NOTE: You may see a message that says “May drain your battery more quickly.” Zenit will use a little more battery this way but, don’t worry, it’s noticeable more but not excessive. This is the reason why Event organizers will insist that you carry an additional battery with you.
